The Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee (HMPC) has asked the Hanoi Department of Transport, in co-ordination with the Hanoi police, to set up a plan allocating specific lanes for each type of vehicle in all the city’s streets and submit it to the HMPC no later than October 15.
At the end of September, traffic separators were installed in five streets including Pho Hue-Hang Bai, Ba Trieu, Kim Ma, Tran Khat Chan-Dai Co Viet and Giai Phong.
In addition to the traffic separators, the agencies have also been asked to suspend or revoke operating licenses of car and motorbike parking areas that cause traffic congestion and research building overpasses for overloaded roads to ease traffic jams and prevent accidents.
The city also suggested imposing stricter penalties on under-age automobile drivers as well as those taking part in illegal motorbike racing. Source: Nhan Dan |
