Through 38 years of building, striving and growing, the People's Police College (now namely People's Police Academy) has a spacious property with modern equipment. From training the secondary level to the university level and at present, the Academy trains the postgraduate education level, creating a worthy position in the system of training university level and postgraduate education level in the whole country. When beginning there are 43 teachers but the Academy has 234 teachers, in which there is 01 Professor, 08 Associate Professors, 28 Doctors, 118 Masters, 10 Meritorious Teachers, 89 Main Lecturers and many cadres, teachers are studying postgraduate education level, research students in and out of the Academy.

During the growing and developing period, People's Police Academy determines clearly the training and scientific fields: At University level include large majors: Investigation about Crimes, Administrative management about social order; manage and educate the guilty persons; with 8 narrow majors are: Criminal Police, Economic Police, Investigation Police, Anti-drug Police, Criminal Technique Police, Administrative management Police of Social order, Traffic Police, Polices who manage and re-educate the guilty persons. At the postgraduate education level: including the training majors such as: Criminology, Criminal Investigation.

With the above majors, the training forms are diversified to accord with each subject and the real condition in the local units: Train the regular university, Crash course, Selection, both studying and working; Issue the second degree, Upgrade the bachelor of college to bachelor of university, supplement knowledge for the level of both studying and working making them equivalent to the regular level, improve the professional knowledge of People's Police for cadres who graduated the university with outside major, Improve for the leaders in the People's Police force. Especially, from 1992, the Academy assigned the task by the State of training Master and training Doctor in 1995. This is a large turning-point that marks the development of quality of People's Police Academy.

The Academy attaches special importance to scientific researching activities and having large developments. During recent years, the Academy has completed and announced over 3.000 scientific products of cadres, teachers and trainees including: curriculum system, reference book, scientific subject of all levels, articles, scientific reports…Scientific researching activity of students has strong development, diversified forms, attracting many trainees to participate and having high results in the competition "Students research science" held by Ministry of Education - Training and Ministry of Public Security. The results of scientific researching activity of Academy have met the urgent demands on the reasoning and professional fields and practice of preventing, fighting the crimes, keeping the social safety and order and request of training work in the new period.

Purpose, training program and professional, reasoning system of the Academy is more and more completed, following close with reality demand; training and scientific researching quality is increased ceaselessly and more strengthened with every passing day. After 38 training years, there are 20.000 trainees graduated from this school. In the period of 68-75, the school has trained and supported for the battlefield 6.490 People's Police officials and soldiers. After the absolute liberation date of the South and national unity up to now, the Academy has trained 14.000 Bachelors, 527 Masters, 48 Doctors and improved the professional skill for over 4.000 leaders of all levels in the People's Police force (in which there are hundreds of trainees from two friendly countries: Laos and Cambodia). Many comrades have been improved in all fields, becoming the leaders, prestigious scientists. Also from this school, many comrades have become heroes, competitive soldiers who have been worked enthusiastically making gloriously the honorable tradition of school.

The innovation work with quick changes on the whole fields: economy, politics, and society of our country and the world and complicated happenings about criminal issue, social order and security become an important condition for developing country, stability of people's life. Therefore, one of the important orientations of People's Police Academy in the next period that is to study regularly and innovate the training method, teaching method, improve the training quality, scientific research, continue supplementing and completing the professional and reasoning knowledge of People's Police to meet timely the request of fighting the crimes in the innovation period.

The Academy continues applying the achievements of technique, science and technology in training, managing activities and other activities of school, especially computerize the teaching activity, scientific research and management in the Academy. Build the Information - professional documentation system, Electronic library meeting the demand of developing, exchanging information to serve for research, study and reality lighting of People's Police force.

Police Academy attaches special importance to the work of cooperation with other countries in the world in the field of training, researching science. The development of cooperation relationship will create good condition for Academy to approach with the newest scientific information about preventing crimes, applying information technology in the regional and international Police branch for the training task of Academy.

Each achievement of Academy today marks the growing steps of Academy, expressing the tenacious efforts of teachers and trainees. To evaluate that strive, Academy is rewarded Ho Chi Minh Medal by the State in 2003, First-rate Independence Medal and other Medals, in which there are 8 units of Faculty, Department, and subject are rewarded Deed Medal and many Certificates of Merit of Prime Minister, 9 former students of Academy are commended Hero of the People's Armed Forces by State; many cadres, teachers are rewarded by State with Medals and noble titles.

Following closely that good tradition, People's Police Academy is competing to teach well and study well; strive to complete excellently the mission in the Training and Education Career; determine to build the Academy going up the regular, modem level; it is worthy to be "Cultural school, exemplary teachers, elegant students"; it really becomes one of the leading Centers of training and scientific researching of Ministry of Pubic Security.
